New Board member Monica Dell’Anna

The Annual General Meeting on 4 May 2018 elects Dr  Monica Dell’Anna, Product Head at NZZ-Medien­gruppe AG since January 2019 (previously head of the Business Media division), as a new Board member. She was a member of the Executive Board of BKW AG and spent ten years in various leadership roles at Swisscom.

Four crypto­currencies in one certificate

The new multi-cryptocurrency certificate enables investors to invest easily and directly in a portfolio with the four cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin. The actively managed structured product is designed for crypto investors who wish to counteract price fluctuations for individual cryptocurrencies. Swissquote had already been the first bank to launch a Bitcoin certificate on the market back in November 2017.

Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) founded

Swissquote, the law firm Lenz & Staehelin and Temenos, the Swiss market leader for bank software, found the Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA). The association wishes to develop standards and tools to facilitate the application of blockchain technologies and thereby fundraising for companies.

Multicurrency credit card − unique in Switzerland

Swissquote launches a credit card that can be used to pay in 12 different currencies, specifically without fee-based conversion to Swiss francs.

Internaxx Bank secures access to the European market

Swissquote buys the Luxembourg-based Internaxx Bank S.A. with around 12’000 clients and client assets of EUR 2 billion. Clients are mainly international investors and expats. With the acquisition, Swissquote secures unlimited access to European markets.

«Climber» in annual report rating 2018

The new design of the 2018 corporate reporting bears fruit. In the HarbourClub’s Swiss Annual Report Rating 2018, the jury honours Swissquote as «Climber of the year» in the design category. Swissquote had reorganised editing of the information, created new formats and above all expanded online.

Diamond tokens for francs

Swissquote is the first bank worldwide to offer clients the chance to participate in initial coin offerings (ICOs). Clients can directly buy tokens for Swiss francs through their Swissquote account and hold them in custody at Swissquote. The start-up company LakeDiamond, a spin-off of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), launches the first ICO on Swissquote’s platform. The company produces lab-grown diamonds for industrial applications such as lasers, microelectronics and clockwork.
